content name:
Pavement discontinuities in urban areas contribute to local noise emission, which is related to the type of discontinuity (pavement equipments or surface distresses) and their level of severity. After evaluation of the different discontinuities that can be encountered on the urban road network, three different measuring procedures are detailed in order to quantify an acoustic indicator ΔL(Disc) representative of the discontinuities effects. After validation of the various experimental techniques, and from results based on large experimental campaigns in different urban situations, a methodology to fill up two “Severity Level” matrixes for distresses and pavement equipments respectively, is detailed. Those matrixes will finally be used to propose a methodology, which will allow identifying the possibility to predict the evolution of the discontinuities from an acoustic technique in association to a statistical analysis. Finally, some first preliminary experimental results obtained through an adapted CPX procedure developed in LCPC-France show the possibility to implement such a procedure to determine the ΔL(Disc) indicator and its range of variation function of the discontinuity.

The similarity algorithm calculates how much two contents in the system are similar to one another. So far, similarity is calculated based on similarity of the project type, area of interest and user type. Generally, if two contents have more parameters in common they are more similar to each another. More information.
